Privacy policy
Effective date: 19 October 2026
Who we are
TimeTickle is provided by eGuys.Tech LTD ("we", "us"), 14 Pinfold Road, Bushey, WD23 2DU, United Kingdom. We are the controller of your personal data under UK GDPR. Contact us at contact@timetickle.app.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why we use it | Legal basis | Where it's kept |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email address and password (stored only as a secure hash) | To create your account and sign you in | Contract | Google Firebase Authentication |
| Name and email address from Google, Microsoft or Apple, if you sign in with them | To create your account and sign you in | Contract | Google Firebase Authentication |
| Guest account ID | To keep a guest's reminders on this device | Contract | Firebase Authentication and your device |
| Reminders, categories, notes, dates, times and settings | To run the app, and to keep an account's reminders the same on all its phones | Contract | Your device; for an account (not a guest), also Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) |
| Location attached to a reminder (only when you tap "Attach location") | To show where a reminder applies | Consent (you can remove it at any time) | With that reminder |
| Vehicle registration, and the make, colour, tax and MOT dates DVLA returns | To create car reminders | Contract | With your reminders; looked up through our server |
| Names and dates of birth you import from a CSV file or from your phone's contacts (only when you choose to import; from contacts we read only names and birthdays) | To create the birthday reminders you choose to save | Contract | With your reminders |
| Crash and error reports: device model, OS version, app version and error details, never reminder text | To find and fix bugs | Legitimate interests | Sentry |
We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
Reminder notifications are scheduled on your device. Their content isn't sent to us.
Some features work only on your phone, and nothing from them is sent to us:
- Show reminders in my calendar writes your open reminders to a TimeTickle calendar kept on your phone. TimeTickle doesn't read or change your other calendars, and removes its calendar when you turn this off or sign out.
- Back up data creates a file with your reminders, categories and settings, saved wherever you choose. The file isn't encrypted, so keep it somewhere you trust.
- Lock TimeTickle uses your phone's fingerprint, face or screen lock. The check happens in your phone's operating system; TimeTickle never receives fingerprint or face data, only whether the check passed.
Who we share it with
- Google (Firebase): sign-in, storing and syncing account data, cloud functions and website hosting. Google acts as our processor.
- Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA): crash reports, as our processor.
- Microsoft and Apple: only if you choose to sign in with them, to confirm who you are.
- DVLA: receives the registration number when you look up a vehicle.
Some processors may handle data outside the UK, for example in the USA. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete your account.
- Data on your device: until you delete it, sign out of a guest account, or uninstall the app.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it. Some of this is built in: Settings → Delete account deletes your account, and Settings → Export reminders (CSV) and Settings → Back up data (.json) export your reminders. For anything else, email contact@timetickle.app; we reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Deleting your account
In the app: Settings → Delete account. You can also request deletion on our delete account page or by emailing contact@timetickle.app. We delete your account and the data linked to it within 30 days.
Children
TimeTickle isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to stored data is limited by Firebase security rules, and service keys are kept on our servers, never in the app.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the effective date when this policy changes, and tell you in the app about any significant change.
